The New Year’s dinner that the Trump Family hosted at Mar-a-Largo hit the headlines for a number of reasons. However, the one that all ethics experts have picked on is the fact that Trump gave a shout out to a Dubai-based billionaire and businessman, Hussain Sajwani. Many people wanted to know what business deals Trump was referring to, and who Hussain Sajwani is.
Well, Hussain is the founder and the CEO of DAMAC Properties, a real estate development company which is based in Dubai, UAE. The company deals with luxury, commercial and residential real estate development. One of the most prominent projects that they have taken part in is the construction of the Trump Golf Resort. Perhaps this is one of the business deals that Trump was referring to when he called the Hussain Sajwani family beautiful people and stated that he would be continuing his business partnership with them.
Hussain has been talking about his relationship with the Trumps, and he admits that they have a close relationship that goes beyond just a cordial business association. He states that before Trump became president, he was doing business with him, and that when Ivanka was pregnant, she was coordinating business deals with his wife (https://www.bloomberg.com/profiles/people/15249401-hussain-ali-habib-sajwani). He also states that he was amazed by how soon Ivanka bounced back into business after the delivery of her child. He adds that they have had several diners with the Trumps in New York, before the family was forced to move to Washington. He noted that the Trumps are very protective of their brand, especially the two sons and Ivanka.
The two sons attended the official opening of the Trump Golf Resort in the UAE. This was seen to further cement the relationship that exists between these two families. Hussain states that he is open to do more business with the Trumps. He adds that he understands the fact that Trump is now president and cannot handle personal businesses. He also adds that there is nothing political about his association with the first family, adding that he was only interested in business, and nothing related to power.
