Furthermore Patty attended the University of South Carolina where she graduated in 1981. Alongside her husband Dr. Scott Rocklage who is a successful chemist, she made a very generous donation to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s chemistry department, where her husband is a Ph.D. graduate of chemistry.
Consequently This donation made it possible for the department to renovate the nanotechnology and nanochemistry lab. In return for the kind gesture MIT is honoring them by displaying their plaque on the newly renovated lab.
Mrs. Rocklage is a big part of her community where she enjoys participating in outreach programs. She is a volunteer for the Sundanese Education Fund, which is a nonprofit charity organization that is dedicated to helping South Sundanese refugees who have come to Massachusetts to gain financial stability, acquire jobs and advance in their education.
